Fun introverted-ness

Today I went to this youth group type thing, where we did boffer wars. It’s pretty much sword fighting with these foam… sticks. It’s super fun, even though I’ll probably be in pain tomorrow.

Now the problem with this youth group type thing is… I’m an introvert. I’ll admit it. I hate crowds, and people in general. Why make friends when you can adopt cats!? Okay, I’m joking about that. Sort of. I do have friends, but besides those friends, I really don’t like people my age. They’re judgy and annoying and I would rather be friends with nice people that… are older than me? You know what I mean. Well not really, but still. I don’t like people my age. I get really nervous and talk to myself (not out loud. That would be weird)… and it’s generally not a good thing when I’m around other people. So… yeah.

Until next time, Em 🙂

Maybe I’m not as much of an introvert as I think I am

Today was my first day of band camp, one of my favorite weeks of the summer. It’s a day full of 5 1/2 hours of playing your instrument, which fulfills my dream of going to Interlochen, almost. Today I:

1. Made a friend after being at camp for 2 hours (I always thought of myself as an introvert, but I guess I just hate people, especially people my age which tend to be immature and cruel)

2. Played a clarinet in my Second Instrument class (my mouth vibrated and hurt so badly)

3. Played a bass clarinet  in my Second Instrument class (I am never going to play a wind instrument. I hate having spit fly all over my face)

4. Saw my handbell teacher, because he was teaching the handbell class (he didn’t recognize me for a minute because I got my hair cut, and it was really awkward for those few moments)

5. Saw a LOT of cute guys (I didn’t know they existed in my state, except for the cute workers at the vacuum/sewing store and Whole Foods)

6. Saw a guy who looked sorta like Paul Rudd in Clueless, in the respect that he would be gorgeous if he cared about his appearance (Okay, he’s still cute, even if he doesn’t care about his appearance)

7. Ran around with a Barney doll that I found, trying to find my orchestra conductor (his name is Barney… only two people figured out that was why I was looking for him)

8. DID NOT GET TO PLAY THE TRUMPET IN MY SECOND INSTRUMENT CLASS (this is a dream of mine. Thankfully I will be able to play it tomorrow/the next day because my orchestra conductor was using it to play with the trumpet section)

9. Had one of the interns make fun of my Canada shirt by saying everything to me with “eh” added onto it (I thought this immaturity ended when you graduated from the 8th grade, the last time this Canadian-make fun of-ness happened, but I guess even college students are immature)

10. Said “hi how are you?!” to a random guy because I was feeling very extroverted/random

Until next time, Em 🙂

Sometimes I just hate people

Have you ever been in that situation, where you’re trying to chill out to your calm playlist of your favorite songs while playing Mahjong Titans, and then a bunch of teenage girls come in the room and totally ruin the moment? Sometimes people just don’t understand the concept of being quiet and letting the introverted kid listen to her music. Sigh.

On another note, I’ve decided to start sharing the Dating Rules that we learn in our history class (our teacher is just that cool)! So, without further ado, I present to you, rule #1!

  1. High school students don’t date college students.

Also, I’d like to present my favorite book of the week and favorite playlist of the week! Drumroll please…

1. Wherever You Will Go – The Calling (Go listen to the acoustic version, it’s so good)

2. Kiss Me Slowly – Parachute (My friend told me about this song, it’s so so so good)

3. Be My Escape – Relient K (Go listen to all of their songs, I love this one and Sadie Hawkins Dance)

4. Everywhere – Michelle Branch (Seriously, Michelle Branch is such a good singer)

5. Absolutely (Story of a Girl) – Nine Days (I think I heard this song on The Lizzie McGuire Movie…)

6. Chances – Five for Fighting (I actually learned of this song through the credits on a movie)

7. Stay the Night – James Blunt (Oh my word, this is a wonderful song. Not depressing at all)

8. Boys of Summer – The Ataris (A cover, way better than the original)

Finally…………………………… my favorite book of the week/my whole entire life, not even kidding. I love Jane Austen re-make books, and this is one of the best. Sure, the writing isn’t the best, but don’t judge a book by its writing! The book is: PRIDE AND POPULARITY BY JENNI JAMES!!!! She’s coming out with a whole entire series of Jane Austen re-makes (my heaven)…. oh my word.

Until next time, Em 🙂
