One Year Blogiversary!

Yay! I can’t believe I’ve made 262 posts, and had 1,342 views, and 251 comments. That’s freaking crazy.

I also can’t believe that I didn’t post on Leap Day. It’s my favorite day… but I don’t even know what happened with that.

If you want to relive the strangeness that is my life… check my first post out and yeah. Have a great day.

Until next time, Em 🙂

now I have something to do for the rest of winter break

… besides finish my English project. ahem.

Because today, I helped my mom’s friend (who got hurt) package up books to ship off. She’s a book rep, and she receives about 600 pounds of books 3 times a year. And since she’s hurt (she slipped a disk working) she asked me to help her. Woohoo! I lifted 475 pounds of books today. I’d say that’s my workout for the whole week. My back is still sore. But hey, I plan to enjoy my last 3 days, 10 hours, and 58 minutes of break. Yes, I have a timer on my desktop.

I will be spending the rest of my winter break reading the 22 books (plus 5 for my brother, plus a box set of the Graceling series) that I got today. Well, not all of them. I’ve got 6 set aside that I’m hoping to finish soon.

The sad thing is, today was the most fun day I’ve had all winter break. Well, not so sad. Getting 27/30 books in one day (for free) is not sad. Not at all.

Until next time, Em 🙂

Sweater Diaries #9 and Lock-ins…

Today I started knitting all the way around the sweater… including the sleeves! Thanks LOTR, you made 3.5 hrs of knitting straight possible.

Eek! Almost done with the sweater!

Eek! Almost done with the sweater!

Sorry for the mess haha… I didn’t feel like cleaning up.

Today I’ve also got a church lock-in. Pretty much, 5 or so of us high schoolers from my church/friends/another church are going to spend the night in my church, watching movies (The Matrix… bring it on) and pretty much chiling out. The only sad thing is that I’m the only girl (MIMI YOU DITCHED ME 😥 )

So if you don’t hear from me tomorrow, you’ll know that I got kidnapped by those suspicious high school boys. At least I’ve got Keanu Reeves to save me, though.

Until next time, Em 🙂

Sweater Diaries #7

Today I made a lot of progress on my sweater – I finished the second sleeve, I’m done with half of the body, and I started a matching hat.

I also started the Bach Cello Suite #1 which I am super excited about!

Sweater Diaries #6 and Christmas :)

Merry Christmas, everybody! And if you’re not celebrating Christmas… happy holidays!

Today was a very exciting day, not just because I got some British presents and tea, but also because I was introduced to an awesome charity.

Kiva is a charity that lets you give loans to people and groups trying to make home improvements, buy a new car, or start up a business, etc. I helped a woman in Jordan pay for home improvements, and a man in Mongolia pay for a new, eco-friendly car. The cool thing is that once the person pays back their loan, you can use your credit to help someone else! My brother and I both got $25 cards for Christmas, and we immediately hopped onto the computer to check out who we could help. I encourage you to check out the website, and maybe even give a $25 card to a family member of friend for their birthday.

Anyways, here are some pictures of some awesome presents I got.

A teapot shaped like a telephone booth

British shoes

I also worked on my sweater (as always haha)

Almost done with the second sleeve!

My winter break is definitely going to be a productive one…

During winter break (which starts next Thursday, sooo excited), I’m going to knit a sweater. Let’s see how this goes. Especially since the largest thing I’ve ever made was a hat. Basically all I make are hats. They’re super easy, and I can use up all my old yarn that I don’t want anymore on them, and then I can donate them. Perfect.

Anyways, I found this pattern on Ravelry, and luckily my library had the book in stock! Woohoo 🙂

I’m also going to make a hat with the same color scheme – brown and white – with the same design of snowflakes that are on the bottom of the sweater. So excited!

I’ll do updates every day or so, so you can see how it’s coming along! And its also a good incentive to finish it by the end of break… along with being able to wear it to school!

Until next time, Em 🙂
