I now have five dozen cookies waiting to be eaten

My church had our cookie exchange yesterday, and can I just say I am in H-E-A-V-E-N!

10 different kinds of cookies… om nom nom

There are so many delicious kinds… including peppermint  bark, chocolate mint cookies, molasses crinkles  ginger snaps, white & milk chocolate chip cookies, icebox cookies, sugar cookies with peppermint white chocolate drizzle, oatmeal raisin toffee cookies, and sugar cookies with peppermint pieces and frosting!

And of course the ones I made.. homemade snickers bars!

Until next time, Em 🙂

C is for Cookie Exchange

This year at my church, we’re having a cookie exchange, and since I love to bake, I decided to join in.

I’m making these yummy homemade snicker bars.

And of course, I’m packaging them in cute homemade cloth bags, which I featured in one of my DIY projects.

What do you consider yourself a “pro” at?

I don’t know if I’m a pro at any of these things, but I do love doing them, so…

1. Baking! And eating… hehe

2. Reading!

3. Shopping!

So what future jobs could come out of these hobbies, you ask?

1. Having my own bakery! Let’s face it, what’s better than cooking all day? And with all that cooking comes taste testing 😉

2. Being a book rep! My mom’s friend is a book rep, which means she gives me Advance Reader Copy books (books which haven’t come out yet), and she gets to read books for a living. Pretty much.

3. Having my own clothes store – specifically a consignment store. My mom was telling me about her coworker that’s from England, who has never seen a consignment store before. She then proceeded to tell me that we should start a store together in England (her coworker and I, not my mom and I xD)… and then I thought, why not? It’d be super fun, and I would live in England. Plus, her coworker is really cute (and has an accent hehe)

Until next time, Em 🙂

That awkward moment when…

1. Your sorta-friend who called you screwed up wishes you “happy birthday” on Facebook – and messes up your age

2. Your friend took her senior picture, and has so much makeup on that she looks like a Barbie – and I don’t mean this as a compliment

Also, I MADE THE CHOCOLATE LAYER FOR MY ICE CREAM CAKE!!! It’s a bit runny – the freezer bowl must not have  been frozen enough, which is weird seeing as it was in the freezer for 12 hours!

Until next time, Em 🙂

Happy birthday to me!

That’s a lie… my birthday isn’t actually until Tuesday… but since I needed something to write about, I’ll just write about my birthday.

This year I’m making a glorious ice cream cake for my birthday

The original cake is a “banana split” ice cream cake, but since I don’t like pineapple, I’m making it with caramel topping instead. Let me break it down for you…

1. Oreo crust

2. Strawberry ice cream (homemade)

3. Strawberry topping (homemade, again)

4. Chocolate ice cream (homemade)

5. Hot fudge sauce (homemade, is there any other way?)

6. Vanilla ice cream (homemade, so excited)

7. Caramel sauce (homemade, there will be a bunch left… let’s just say I’m not sad about that)

8. Whipped cream (homemade)

ASDFJKL THIS IS GONNA BE SO DELICIOUS!!!

I’m using the general recipe from http://www.browneyedbaker.com/2012/07/12/banana-split-ice-cream-cake/, and also the strawberry ice cream and strawberry topping recipe from there.

I’m using the other ice cream and topping recipes from the book The Perfect Scoop (I just want to make EVERYTHING from this book… om nom nom)

Until next time, Em 🙂

I SEE THE LITTLE GREEN CIRCLE BY YOUR NAME!!!

Why is it that people decide to be online and they don’t reply to your messages that you sent three days prior? Why?!

Also, I made Black and White Cookies for school tomorrow… I had to try one to make sure they were good!

They taste sorta like Madeline cookies with frosting on top… delish 🙂

I probably should have sifted the cocoa powder, because that frosting came out really thick and not as runny as the white frosting… but still yummy 🙂

Until next time, Em 🙂
